Hi , This is my friend problem

29/3/13 HO deduct free 1,317 pound

4/5/13 received Ack letter (date 2/5/13)

Ho request more 385 pound otherwise the app will be refuse

Is that right ? Why they need more money ? NCS Didn't do the right jobs or something ?

Are they sure money was debited on 29/03? Normally the acknowledgement letter is issued as soon as money is debited. It is quite unusual that this happened a month later. Fees changed on 06/04 so they will need to pay the higher fees if the application was received by the HO after that date (regardless if they had a NCS appointment before the date).

yes I'm sure because My friend went to the bank on 02/04/13 and get statement out of machine

even though the free came up on 6/4/13 still not right amount as my friend paid 1,317 pound (joint app) and Ho wanted more 385 pound.

thank you Jambo x

Just realised that 1317 +385 = 1702 which equals to 2 single applications (£851 2012 fees). It seems that the HO is not treating them as a joint application but as two singles. Either they didn't submit a marriage certificate or they don't live together at the same place (those are the requirements for a joint fee).

Yes they need as a joint fee doesn't apply in their case. NCS should have spotted that. Anyway I don't think it will delay their application by much.
