I take it by the above that your British father is British by descent? What I am asking is whether your Father was British because his parents were British or did he naturalise as a British Citizen?

If you have a passport issued before 1 January 1983 that describes you as a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies on page 1, you will almost certainly have become a British citizen on 1 January 1983. As if you were born outside the United Kingdom before 1 January 1983, you became a British citizen if, immediately before that date, you were a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies and had the right of abode in the United Kingdom

If not, your father is British by descent and thus you cannot apply for a British Passport. If you want to come to the UK then you may able to apply for an ancestry visa - http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... -ancestry/
