Hi
I am eligible for naturalisation application next month.

Can someone answer my following queries please.

1.I lost my job 2 months ago and on benefits and husband lost his job as well 4 months ago we both are currently unemployed and on benefits. will unemployment and seeking benefits effect my application?

2.I use to work part time so couldn't contribute towards Tax and NI(shows zero contribution on my payslips) but my husband worked full time and contributed.
My non contribution towards Tax and NI effect my application?

3.I have couple of defaults on my credit file. Will this effect my application

1. No
2. No
3. Depends, are you still paying the debts even if just £1pcm and have you checked to see if you have CCJs?

As long as your paying something off your debts each month then that will be ok. You need to be settled (have ILR) for 12 months and have been resident in the UK for 5 years unless you're married or civil p to a British Citizen. The 5 year period can include 1 year of settlement.

Can i make registration application for my child born in India on basis of just approval letter? or do i need to wait for my naturalisation certificate.
Jambo wrote:Assuming the other parent holds ILR and that the child meets the requirentments, then the approval letter should be enough. If you have applied together, your approval has been enough to grant the child BC.
2321 wrote:Thanks Jambo for your reply.
Both parents got citizenship approval letters and kid holds Ilr for more than a year but couple of months short of residence requirement.
Jambo wrote:Any particular reason (apart from spreading the costs) he didn't apply together with you?

Residential requirement? How old is the child? See Q2 in Citizenship FAQs - Common Questions - Read before posting - children.
