Name change between naturalization and passport application

Hi all

Need some advice on a couple of related matters regarding my wife's change of name

She is currently in the UK on an ILR on her Kenyan passport - currently, both the ILR and passport are in my maiden name

Few points to note:
- She'd like to change her surname (we've got a UK marriage certificate)
- She's done her citizenship ceremony and will be applying for the British passport, in which she'd like to using the married name
- She will also be applying for a new Kenyan passport with her married name
- Kenya allows dual citizenship and so she will be actively using my Kenyan passport between UK & Kenya

Question is - does she need to change the name on the ILR in the (soon-to-be) old Kenyan passport? She will need the ILR as proof of right to enter UK when leaving Kenya and when entering the UK...
...or will this not matter since she will have a British passport soon?

I know there have been many posts about this, but there have also been new rules on the ILR such as biometric card, etc, so just have to be sure

Thank you in advance

1) She's received her naturalization certificate her maiden name. But before applying for a UK passport she'd like to change her maiden name. I'm getting mixed info on charges and processes.
- On one hand I hear that the name on the naturalization certificate and passport application have to match
- On the other hand I hear that you can submit the naturalization certificate (with old surname) with a deed poll certificate (certifying surname change) when applying for the passport
Which one's true?

2) Separate question regarding ILR on her current non-UK passport. This country allows dual-citizenship, so we will be applying for a new passport with the embassy. But what happens to the ILR - is it a case of carrying 2 passports with old name on ILR? Or is she required to get a new ILR with the new surname?

Thanks in advance.
See http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/england/r ... f_name.htm for information on how to change your name.

Also, the application will ask for other names you have been known including maiden names.

1) Check with IPS but I believe a marriage certificate is enough to prove name change even if naturalisation certificate is in maiden name (and was issued after marriage). I don't think deed poll is needed.

2) why would she care about her ILR stamp? She is British. If needed to prove right to enter the UK (to the airline for example) she can just show the British passport. It's common for dual nationals to travel with both passports.
