British passport application for Child born in UK

Dear All,

My daughter was born in Uk in the month of may 2013 (I already had ILR).

I got her birth certificate done and then filled up the passport form and went to Post office for their check and send service. They asked me to provide child's grand parents details on a separate A4 sheet of paper.

My question are:

1) Are these details required?
2) If so, then does is this needed for grandparents from father's and mother's side?

I know this might have been asked a few times before by others, but I am unable to find it.

Thanks in anticipation of your response.

Its not required just show you already have ILR that fine I don`t think the post office has instruct you for that just send her full birth certificate and your immigration status as settlement with BRP Card Copy one of her parent If you have still problem at the post office then send off your self through recorded DLV should be fine don`t worry hopefully you will receive the passport in two week.
best wishes

As adviced send ILR and birth certificate through next day recorder without check and send and you will be fine. I had the same issue with my daughter passport, was asked if I would like to use check and send and than adviced that my daughter is not British because I was't British when she was born. So I told the lady to send it by next day recorder at my own risk which she did. Is no point using check and send, they should be trained but they not.
