We have received approval letter today and also notification of ceremony which we are unfortunately unable to attend. When we completed forms we indicated that we wanted ceremony at a different location to the one we have been given our appointment at. Can we change location at this stage ?

You can, but the procedure could take a very long period, and things could go wrong, and it might all take an eternity.

IMHO, book the ceremony again asap wherever it is available, and travel to that place. Spend a day off work, and avoid the headache.

Try to be smart and do unnecessary procedures and you may end up with nothing but headache.
