MN1 Application Question?

Hi, I have a question about the MN1 Application.
I'm currently 16 and have been living in the UK with my mother (My parents are divorced) for 6 years now, although no one in my family was born in the UK and we are originally from Lithuania. My mother cannot get a citizenship because her English is still too poor and she doesn't necessarily need it. However, I plan to stay in the UK and attend university here and there is a specific scholarship opportunity that I would like to enter which requires you to be a British Citizen, so I was wondering what are the chances of the application being successful if none of my parents are British Citizens? Is needing the citizenship for certain opportunities I'm missing out on a good enough reason?

Thanks.

What have your mother been doing for the past 6 years? Did she work continuously for at least 5 years? Did she register with the HO when she initially started to work?

So your mother (and you) have Permanent Residence status in the UK and can apply for confirmation of this status using application form EEA3 (aplication is free). The day you turn 18 you could apply for naturalisation as British citizen. It is unlikely you will be able to apply before you are 18 if your mother doesn't apply for naturalisation.

Hi All,

Please correct me if i am wrong.

1. To my understanding to register a british born child under 18 one of the parent should be in ILR. Is that correct?

My case

2. My wife is in Tier 1 General Visa till Sep 2013.
3. We have a 2.5 year old kid who was born here.

Can i register my kid as a British citizen using MN1.
