EEA national married to British - proof of self sufficiency

Hi there,
I'm a Greek national (EEA) and married to my British husband 12 months ago. I've been living in the UK for 7 years but have only been employed for the last 2. For the first 5 years my future husband's salary was enough for both of us.
I understand that I now need to prove that I've been exercising treaty rights for the last 6 years and that for the first 4 of these I'll need to prove I did it while self-sufficient.
I've read that the only way of doing this is if I had got comprehensive sickness insurance (which I didn't). However, I've also read that if I prove that my future-husband had sufficient salary (via his P60s) then that would be OK.
So, on this basis I went to a Nationality Checking Service today to do my application. I was simply told that the ONLY way to prove self-sufficiency was through CSI, irrespective of my husband.
I was hoping that perhaps someone has had a better experience and perhaps that other evidence can also be counted. For example, I've been on the house's electricity bill for the last 5 years or so - would that count?
