Hello,

We are applying for naturalization next month and i had a question regarding the parents details section in AN form.

My husband does not have his parents details like place of birth, year of birth etc. and unfortunately,he cannot get this information from anywhere

So, my question is that is it possible to leave the parents details section blank in his form? or do you think this could lead to rejection of application? Has anyone else not provided this information but still had their application successful?

We might leave it blank then...Hope this will not have any issues

UKBA ask for this information to ascertain if someone was already British (by decent through their parents) albeit unknowingly.
If you don't know the place of brith, atleast provide country of birth (if that's known) and state or province. etc
If you leave this section as blank the application will not be rejected but it will mean UKBA may need to make additional checks to ascertain their British nationality status first. (so perhaps a bit extra processing time).

If the OP is naturalising due to 5 years + 1 year ilr or as the spouse/civil partner of a BC, as I assume he or she/he is, the section regarding parents is not relevant.

A british citizen can't be naturalised. There are examples where people submitted naturalisation / MN1 forms without knowing they were already british through their parents. In such cases applications were returned with a confirmatory note on their exiting British citizenship.

If someone leave those section blank UKBA will still try to ascertain if the the person was already british through parents (based on the limited infrmation) before proceeding with the naturalisation.

true, OP can't don't anything and the details are not mandatory so there is no obligation to complete these.
UKBA will still need to do their standard checks and tick the box off.
