Hi All

I am confused about Neutralization that when I am eligible to apply?

I entered UK on 26th March 2007 and on 26th March 2013 - I have completed my 6 years in UK

I got my ILR last year sometimes in September 2012. (It took about 06 months to get my ILR from March 2012 when I completed my 05 years on Tier1)

So my question is, do I have to wait until September 2013 before I can apply for neutralization or I can apply any time now from March 2013 onwards?

Please help so that I can start to prepare my application

Unless you are married to a British Citizen, you have to hold ILR for exactly 12 months so you will only be able to apply in September 2013 provided you meet all the standard requirements and were physically present in the UK exactly 5 years to the day in September 2008.

Thanks for reply - so what date will be considered to apply for Neutrilization. One which is mentioned on the ILR approval letter? Or the one ILR card?

It's naturalisation not neutralisation. 12 months from the valid from date on the card.

So many people on the forum ask about applying for neutralization. I think everyone should respect the fact that they want to apply for neutralization (whatever that may be) and not naturalisation.

Either reminds me of a chemistry experiment or when someone is 'neutralised' as in a spy.

Yes chemistry experiments, acid neutralizing.

But it could mean something else too, like US wants to deploy more forces to south east Asia to NEUTRALIZE china's influence.

But I suspect, that some people might have bad odours in their houses, and they want to neutralise the bad odours with sprays.
