Hi,
I just received my child's first passport from the New Delhi embassy. It had no other docuements. I went to the FRRO office to get an exit visa and the FRRO people are asking for a letter from the New Delhi embassy that came with the passport.

I rang the New Delhi Embassy and they said they no longer issue any paper with the passport. So how do I now get my exit visa?

Thanks

Hello rockinter, I am wondering how did you apply for your daughters passport from India??

I am Indian and received ILR in April. My daughter was born in the UK in 2012 but both my daughter and wife(Indian) had to leave the UK. I was considering registering my daughter as a british citizen in India as I have ILR but the British High Commission in India said that they cant do it in India. I am finding it hard to get a professional reference in the UK as daughter is in India...and when called the NCS in UK they said if none of the parent has become british then the child cant be registered as british!! Has the rules changed??? I am still perplexed by all this...and need some help!

Go back and tell them there is no letter - you could email the embassy and ask them to put it in writing to show them! Oh the joys for FRROs

Can you pay solicitor or someone to get the exit permit on behalf of you?

This going back and forth to the FRRO is stressful. As the FRRO refuse to listen anything you tell them.

Don't know about specy_99 case, I was a british citizen, just went through the MN1 process then applied for passport.

Hi,
If I want to apply for OCI for my baby, can I apply directly or do I have to do something before that?

Thank you
