Hi

I got married in jun 2011 and got ILR in may 2013 but i m not sure whether i can apply for naturalization or not.

I was on post study visa when i got married. MY wife is British citizen.

I dnt know whether my student visa period and post study visa count towards the residential qualifying period??

I have read FAQS but still not sure.
My wife rang UKBA and they said i have to wait for aleast 1 year.
I meet all the criteria as i have been living in England since 2005I dnt want to lose money guys please help me.

The residency requirement for the spouses of British citizens is 3 years, which is not expected to be spent fully under a dependant visa. Such as you can claim to have a relation prior to marriage and as many of experienced members have previously stated here "all lawful stay in UK counts, even up to a touristic one in the condition that the aim was to live together".

Therefore as far as I know you can collect the documents and book a slot in NCS, you are entitled now (residency requirement-wise)

Ringing the UKBA it seems, is like ringing the local pub for advice.

For the spouse residential requirement you did not have to intend to live together just that you have been in the UK legally for 3 years, have ILR and are the spouse or civil partner of a BC at the time of the application. You must have been physically present in the UK exactly 3 years prior to the HO receiving your application.
