I have a question regarding my Naturalisation application .. I would really appreciate if someone could help me explain my situation.

I have spent more than 8 years in the UK since 2005 .. I was on student Visa till October 2010 but I went on holiday in May 2010 to my country for 2 months to get married and I also switched my visa from Student to Tier 1 dependent.

in brief:
  • 1) Student Visa from 2005 - October 2010

    2) Tier 1 Dependent Visa June 2010 - 2012
(switched while on holiday Out of country)

    3) ILR August 2012

Now, I would like to know if I qualify for Naturalisation based on 5 years continuos residence in the UK (plus 12 months ILR) since I switched my visa well before it ran out in 2010.

Thanks

Yes providing you meet the other requirements including being physically present in the UK 5 years prior to the Home Office receiving your application (assuming your spouse isn't a British Citizen). If you are married or the civil partner of a British citizen then you may not have to wait.

Hi all I am new to the forum and need your advice?
I was granted ILR on November 2010 and I want to know if I can apply for Citizenship now.
This is because, although my ILR was granted on November 2010, but I have been physically present in England since February 2004 from the age of 14. My ILR was granted under the Abandoned Children Concession and the European Convention of Human Rights. So, if my physical presence is counted it would mean that I have been a resident for 9 years now. I would also like to point out that my ILR application was made in May 2006 and the ILR was granted in November 2010 (4 years and 6 months) later, so will this time period be counted again?
Can I apply now?
