After the passport interview…

Hi there!
I have a big dilemma.I can’t explain the situation. I had the interview on the 9th of Sept in London Victoria .Everything was ok…nothing special. On Thursday, 12th of Sept, at 9 am I got a phone call from someone from IPS Peterborough !!!( which is farrr from London) who requested me to send again my certificate of naturalisation – in original to IPS Peterborough!!!. She asked me (for the 20th time) : ‘Could you spell your first name?’…That’s very weird as my name is quite similar to an English name but instead of one e – I’ve got two ‘E’s. She said that there was no need to come for another interview. All she wanted was my certificate of naturalisation .This situation really annoyed me a bit…

Have you experienced this kind of situation? What’s the reason? Why my ppt will be issued from Peterborough and not from Victoria – London?
Many thanks,

Where you attend the interview is not necessary where your application is being handled. HMPO spread the work load between the 7 offices. You might choose to have an interview somewhere else in the country. It sounds that she wanted to verify the one E / two E issue and that's why she wanted to see the certificate again (maybe they made a mistake when initially examining your application which they realised following the interview). You will get your passport in a few days.

Thanks for the information Jambo. I didn't know that the workload would be spread between the 7 offices. However, that's not really the issue for me. I'm more worried about the fact that most people's passports are posted straight after the interview and yet I was told to re-submit my certificate of naturalisation. I'm just guessing that it was concerning the spelling of my name but the lady on the phone didn't say exactly what the "problem" was. She just said she needed to double-check something which seemed a bit vague. And surely they would have had a copy of the certificate, so if it was about checking the spelling then they could have looked at their copy. What other reason could there be for this delay???

No much point in guessing. I would not worry too much.

I believe the passport would be printed as soon as they get the certificate and verify the name so it should be soon.

Yesterday I got my certificate of naturalisation back + a small piece of paper which said:'Your passport application is being processed. The documents submitted in support of your application have been noted and are enclosed.' Home Office Identity & Passport Service...
It was dated 18 of Sept although yesterday was the 17 th of Sept. There was nothing today in the mail box...

I noticed that there were people on the forum who applied on the 10th of Sept @ Victoria - London and got the ppt in two days...Well, it's been more than a week for me...and nothing has come..

:(
