Hi,
I just wanted to check the procedure for Applying the British Passport for our baby.
Please find below the required details
1) I & my wife got ILR in August 2013
2) Baby was born in June 2013 in UK
Is baby still eligible for Naturalization (MN1 form) and then for British passport?
Please advice.
Thanks!

I have booked the appointment with NCS for registration of my child as British citizen.
Please find below list of queries regarding MN1 form.
1) We mentioned baby surname under Section 1.5 and first name under section 1.6. Is this correct?
2) What we need to mention under Section 1.9 (present nationality)…Indian or British? The child has born in UK three months before the ILR approved to Indian parents and Baby does not have Indian passport.
3) In the 1st referee section, we have mentioned “Family friend” who is teacher and British Citizen by birth. For 2nd referee, we mentioned “neighbour” (British Citizen) details. Both referees have filled their details themselves in the form.
Both referees know the child personally. Will this be sufficed?
4) We married on 01-10-2009 in India and registered our marriage on 05-10-2009. In marriage certificate, both “date of marriage” and “date of register” have been mentioned. Which date we need to specify under Section 1.39?
I would appreciate your advice on above queries.
Thanks!

Though I have not asked any "professional" advice else I will have go for same somewhere else & don't mind at all to pay them.
All I was asking the information I had mentioned in MN1 form was correct and looking for 2nd opinion (or advice) based on experiences & knowledge of this forum experts.
Anyways, thanks for your time “Mr Amber” for reply on this post & guiding me to the right channel. I will still appreciate your efforts for doing so !!

1) Yes.
2) Indian. How could the child be British? That's the whole point of the application.
3) Yes.
4) date of marriage.

Child can't be British, but may not be Indian. If child hasn't been registered as an Indian citizen (as far as I know India doesn't automatically confer Indian citizenship by descent, at least not for those born since December 2004), child may actually be stateless.

Thank you so much Jambo & Jaj for the information. Much appreciated.
Regarding the baby nationality under section 1.9, I understand that baby can't be British Citizen till we get the certificate (via MN1) for British Citizen from UKBA Home Office.
However I am still not clear how we prove that the baby has Indian nationality?
Please share the information how we register the child (born in UK) as Indian and do we need to attach any document with MN1 form to prove that the baby is Indian?

You are not required to provide proof of the child current nationality. Just write Indian.
