I am a Swedish student living in the United Kingdom since 2006.

So after these years I want to take a next step in order to be recognised as a British citizen

Applying as a student is not possible since I have no private CSI or Swedish EHIC which would cover the whole period.

I live with my father who is working as well so I can't get a statement from Swedish authorities regarding health insurance. I have never had a Registration Certificate therefore I can't claim exemption from this requirement. I meet the other requirement regarding absences and Life in the UK test which I have passed few months ago.

Can I apply as a family member of EEA national who exercises Treaty Rights as a worker? It's possible for Permanent Residence. An application for naturalisation mentions few sentences at the which suggest a such possiblity. namely ''evidence of exercising treaty rights for a relevant EEA national'' and if applying as a direct family member of an EEA natonal, evidence of relationship...'' I have the evidence proving my father's employment, I have a birth certificate and a certified translation.

We live together at the same address however I have lived alone for less than a year during the whole period of presence in the UK. Will it cause a problem?

If I go ahead with this application now I need to be sure whether it's ok to apply as a family member so.

I have read the FAQ and it says that after holding a PR card for a year allows to apply just with that card. Is it a better solution? I can wait another year if having a PR card increases my chances of a success.

This is more a EEA Regulations question (PR) than a naturalisation question.

How old are you? Did your father work since 2006? While you are under 21 years old, you are automatically considered a family member. After 21, you need to be dependant on your father.

I'm 22 at the moment. My father works without any gaps in the UK since 2004.

How can I show dependency on my father?

You don't need to.

You obtained PR status (automatically) in 2011 after 5 years of residence in the UK as a family member (under 21 child) of a Swedish worker.
Submit 5 P60s of your father (2006-2011) and a birth certificate. Indicate on the form that you are a family member. You might want to add a note explaining you are basing your PR status on your father.

I'm in a similar situation. The difference is that I became 21 during the first five years of residence. I will be also basing my application on my parent's exercising of the Treaty Rights.

July 2006-July 2011 : I have turned 21 in February 2011... so as you can see I have been 21 for few months during that period. On top of that I have lived away from my parental home from September 2011 to July 2012 but still in the UK.

I am completely clueless whether these circumstances can harm my EEA3 application or naturalisation...

I have received my approval letter today, dated last week. Very smooth indeed. I am very suprised that they have processed my application so quickly. I have provided my dad's details in a section about Treaty Rights and required evidence including his passport. So thanks for the guidance

Sorry but I really can't help you with query since were over 21 during some time of your qualifying period. I don't know if they allow a child over 21 to apply on a basis of EEA family member.
