Hi Experts,
I am born in England and have a daughter via a lady from Grenada Caribbean. We did not marry. My daughter was born in UK and went to school here until she was 10. She continued her education in Spain and let her UK passport expire. She tried to renew it but was refused. Now she is stuck in Spain and I believe is Stateless. She is now 16 and wants to continue her education in England.

My ex now uses her Granadian passport lives in Spain and her UK passport has expired.
Both her parents hold British passports, one living in UK the other deceased.

Any ideas on what her status is and how I can resolve this.

Thank you

Why did they refuse to renew her British passport?

Child should be entitled to register for British citizenship, if she isn't already British.

If your ex's parents both held British passports, then was your ex British or settled or had the right of abode when child was born?
