				Dear All,
I need to fill in gradparents details on section 8 for my passport application. This seems to be quite complectaed as on the form itself it says:
fill in Name , town & country of birth, date of birth and date of marriage of your father parents & your mother parents...
However on the guidance notes it only asks for date of marriage (not dates of birth)
my question is: I have dates (birth & Marriage) and all info for my mother's parents (grandfather & grandmaother) BUT I dont have dates of birth or date of marriage fully for my fathers parents...
Is this going to be a problem? is it required ? and also there is absolutely no way all this info can go on the space provided in section 8 !!
any help with answers will be appreciated please. thank you

If you are naturalised, then you do not need grandparents details. On my application, I just put in there, Grandparents details unknown and it was processed without any queries.

ok that is great - Thanks both Jambo & jogeg -- its not actually specifically mentioned in the guidance notes at all - its speaks about supporting docs but not the need to fill in that part or not if you are Naturalized... but I get the idea and it makes sense!
one more (silly question) just to confirm that the certificate number is that 7 digits (all digits) number just above refrence number... correct? (it is not the one starting with C letter at the bottom of the certificate!?)
thanks,

Also I have another query just to be sure...
My current passport covers the last 5 years so it was ok for ILR & Citezenship application... But it was not the passport I entered UK with back in 2007. that old passport expired and was also cancelled by my embassy with a "cancelled" stamp on the first ID pages...
my question is: as per gudance notes I think I need to send the two passports? is that correct ? in other words although the old passport is cancelled and expired, but it was the passport i used to enter uk ... so do I need to send it too?
thanks,

Correct, you need to send all passports you have, both expired and current.

Yes. The certificate number (all digits), not the HO reference number (which starts with the first letter of your surname + numbers).

Check the FAQ.
Current passport is enough.
