Advice on baby Uk passport

Advice needed!
My husband and I got ILR this november. My son was born in June. We have applied for his registration as British citizen using MN1. The issue is that I need to travel to India urgently.
- Is it possible that once the registration certificate arrives, my husband can send that across and I can apply for my baby's British passport from India ?
- If so, we can surrender his Indian passport and can he travel back to UK using his British passport?
any help/advice would be gretly appreciated!
