Hi Forum,

I have some questions about the AN form:

1) Section 1.1 - HO reference number I do not have the one from my ILR application (there is only a case ID in the approval letter), but have the one from my Tier-1 extension, would it be fine to use this?

2) Section 1.21 - about choosing another authority for ceremony, is it possible to choose this later, or do I have to research and choose in the form?

3) Section 1.27 - Mothers full name and maiden name - Do I have to put both?

4) Section 2 - Residence requirements, absences, in what order? I have put from 2013 to 2008, is that fine?

Yes, put the ref no. from tier 1 HO letter.

Take my advice, don't choose another authority. It will just be an headache. Leave it blank, and it will be your local authority by default.
Many times, even if you choose a different local authority, they still end up sending it to your local authority. If you try to change later on, it will again be endlessly chasing them with emails, letters and phone calls. HO will need to recall Naturalisation certificatel from local authority, and then HO will have to send it to another local authority. Its a recipe for disaster.

3) Section 1.27 - Mothers full name and maiden name - Do I have to put both?

It is fine to just give her full name. That's what I did.

4) Section 2 - Residence requirements, absences, in what order? I have put from 2013 to 2008, is that fine?

Either way it is fine. Doesn't make a difference.

Forum members, 2 very quick queries:

1) Past addresses - for my current address I have given DD-MM-2010 - 16-12-2013 (which is my NCS appointment), as I did not know how to mention till-date, is this OK?

2) Self addressed pre-paid special delivery envelopes - how many should I send with my application, it is a joint application for me and wife.

Actually I am applying via NCS, was just wondering if its still worth sending over SDEs with the NCS for approval docs etc, and how many. Anyone has done this when aplying via NCS, and for a joint application?

in that case i would say no.

Thanks wpilr_nov12, sorry for asking questions one by one, but when applying with NCS, I do not quite understand how payment works. They told me on the phone to get a credit/debit card, which suggests you pay on the spot, but then people report payment being deducted upto a month after application, and sometimes more.

Does using one mode of payment (debit card/postal order etc), contribute towards speeding up the approval process, as opposed to paying by credit card for example?

Ncs payment is separate from application payment. you pay for ncs service at ncs appt. still need to supply/send separate apli payment detail.

BC application, NCS or othewise, you fill up your card details on the fees form. Your application will be sent by NCS to HO in an envelope, and then your application will join the que. When your turn comes, your envelope will be opened and payment will be deducted from the card details provided by you.

Actually it would be a very good idea if there was a facility of paying by chip and pin at NCS for the BC application.

BTW, a very quick question, one of the referees for my application, and both referees in my wife's application have used the date in 10-DEC-2013 format. Now I just noticed that the form guidance says all dates should be DD/MM/YYYY.

I know this is a paranoid question, but could this affect the application in anyway at all, as if there is even a fraction of a chance, I will try to get them to fill the form again.

Thoughts?

Don't worry. It not even a legal requirement to complete an application form.

I was hoping against hope someone would have inputs, but I understand if wasnt the best question to ask. Anyway.

Some last queries forum, thanks for your help so far:

1) The instructions say the form has to be filled in BLOCK CAPITAL letters. All my referees however have written their emial address in lower case, could that be a problem?

2) HO ref on the payment page - is in a grey color, I am confused if we are supposed to fill this in, or will the Home Office fill in when they take the payment.
