Hi All,

Can I use my old photographs for British nationality application (AN form). The photographs were perhaps used for ILR application last year.

The guidance is not very clear how recent the photographs should be really.
I would highly appreciate if someone could help me in this regards please.

Many thanks

If you used the photo for ILR then definitely DO NOT use it again.

Usually the official requirement for any photograph for any official purpose is less than 6 months.

The UKBA Photo Guide says photos should be taken within the last month

And the guide states 'recent photo'. 12 months ago (for ILR) is not recent.

Thanks for all the replies, really helpful. I am going to get new photographs then.

Out of interest, if they are not happy with the photographs does this invalidate the application and the application fee goes wasted. I recall reading similar thing regarding ILR applications.
