One year residency period of ILR

Hello,
I have booked an appointment with NCS for 27-01-2014 to make my naturalization application. However, I am a bit confused about the dates on my ILR approval letter and the date on my BRP card. Many people here in forum says that the date on ILR approval letter is the date you go by and you can apply exactly one year after that date. This is exactly what my lawyer said to me as well. But, I have also seen some moderators in this very forum saying that one should go by the date on BRP card. My point is that why should we go for the date on BRP card? Many people do not get BRP cards within 7 days (like in my case) and I have seen people getting it after 2 months since receiving their ILR approval letter! The situation gets even worse if you get ILR after several months of your application with obviously no fault of yours. Ideally the ILR date should start when your previous Tier-1/HSMP visa was expiring as that would have saved at least 6-10 months for many applicants...
anyways...
My ILR approval date is 23-01-2013 while the date on BRP card is 13-02-2013.
I am going to NCS on 27-01-2014. Is that OK?
