Hi all,

I will have BOTC Passport (Turks & Caicos Islands) next month by Naturalization.
Can I apply British Citizenship or UK Passport then?

I review the UKBA's website and it says:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/briti ... hnational/

Registration under the alternative provisions for British overseas territories citizens
If you are a British overseas territories citizen and did not become a British citizen under the British Overseas Territories Act 2002, you will be eligible for registration as a British citizen unless:

your British overseas territories citizenship is by connection only with the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia; or
you have previously given up British citizenship by a declaration of renunciation.

Does it means I can apply British citizenship when I get my BOTC passport?

Thanks

Once you are naturalised as a BOTC you would normally be eligible to register as a British citizen under section 4A of the British Nationality Act. This is discretionary, but will normally be granted unless there are exceptional circumstances.
