National Insurance Contribution

For the past 3 years I have not been regularly paying my National Insurance Contribution.
As I have recently applied for citizenship on basis of being married to BC, could this affect my application?

This depends on the reason why you were not paying the NI. If this was in a form of deception then there could surely be consequences, as HO do cross check your details with HM Revenue & Customs.

I was unemployed at the time and had no income.

Then just relax, this will not cause any problems whatsoever.

Thank you sidhujazz.
I would be grateful if some senior members could also confirm that this should not present a problem.

If you were unemployed, then you did not need to continue paying NI contributions. The UKBA will have access to the detail from HMRC so there is no need to worry or stress.
Some people have been approved having never worked in the UK and therefore never having paid NI contributions.
