I have recently been naturalized as BC and applying for my first adult passport now. The person in post office for check and send told me that I also need to send my original birth certificate with my application, I told him that it is not mentioned in the passport guidance booklet but he was insisting on it.
I have sent my application anyway but he has me worried now. Can someone please confirm if I need to send my birth certificate for first adult british passport even when I have been naturalized?? I was not born inside UK.

The documents I have sent are:
- My current non-UK passport.
- My naturalization certificate.
- Two Photographs (one signed by a referee as asked in guidance)

Birth certificate is not required for a naturalised citizen.
