BC Parents - Child Born In India

Hi all experts,
Please can you help us get clarification on our query, thanks in advance.
I & my wife both a British Citizens by Naturalisation, and my wife is about a deliver a baby in either last week of this month or first week of May.
(1) Our understanding is that, we Cannot apply for Indian Passport for the new baby as we both are british Citizens, is this correct?
(2) Our understanding is that, we Have to ONLY apply for British Citizenship for the newly born baby, is this correct?
(3) If (2) is true then what documents and application form we need to fill?
(4) If (2) is true, then Do I have to be in India to apply for new baby passport? As I am currently in UK.
Please can you help us know and also refer to other threads where our friends were earlier in similar situation and how they got then resolved?
