First passport for child born abroad

Hi guys, first post looking for some guidance.
Living in the USA currently and moving back to the UK this year sometime and need to get my 2 US born kids British passports.
I've looked at some of the documentation and am a little confused what I should provide as evidence.
I am (a male) British by birth, born after 1 January 1983.
Both kids born after 1 July 2006 so marriage certificate is not required
Is my long form British certificate plus a colour copy of my passport enough to prove my citizenship status?
The reason I ask - when I submitted the application and printed off the declarations it now says I need to prove their grandparents (my parents) claim to citizenship, but can't find any requirement anywhere else on the .gov website to indicate this is necessary. I applied for my older 2 kids last summer and didn't need to provide any grandparent information.

Also I only have 1 long form birth certificate, can I send the applications together or do I need to a)get a 2nd certificate or b)do it one at a time.
