MN1 Registration for my Son

Hi,

I would like to know whether it is possible to apply for BC for my son using MN1 through NCS based on just myself and not my wife.

I acquired British Citizenship (Naturalization) last year in October 2013 and my British PP in December 2013. ( Tier-1 Route )

My son was born in UK in 2009 and he got ILR along with me in May 2012.

Due to the nature of my wife's job, she was on and off the UK and hence she did not apply for ILR and subsequently lost the eligibility for ILR. Currently she don't have a visa for UK. Ofcourse I can apply for dependent one but don't want to spend 800+ as her job is currently in South East Asia and my son is living with her.

Lot of things changed in British Immigration and so would appreciate your comments on this.

My son and my wife come to UK during holidays every year and it is always a hassle in immigration who question his ILR status as he don't reside in UK. So, I thought of getting BC which will put immigration at rest for him.

Can I apply for BC for my son using MN1 through NCS or is it a requirement that both parents have to be settled in UK in order to apply for my son's BC ?

Many Thanks for your time.

Hi CR001,

Many thanks for the link. Much Appreciated.

I may be naive in asking but just so to be sure, after reading the link, I can see that I can apply for BC for my Son. It was always stated as ILR / PR in the document but not of any mention of the child of British Citizen. But I assume I can apply as I am a British citizen through NCS.

I will book an appointment with NCS for the same and hope it goes well.

Let me know if I am not correct in this procedure.

Thanks for your time.
