Hello,

I received my indefinite visa last month (9th Apr) on long residence 10 years basis.
I have two sons. One is 4 years old and second is 3 months. They both are born in uk.
Can I apply for their british citizenship on MN1 form?
I heard that after the rules of 6th April 2014, my sons can't get british citizenship and they need to get flr(m) visa. I am confused.

Please answer my question.

Regards,
Rahel

You can apply for both UK born children on separate MN1 forms to register as British under section 1(3) as you have received ILR. Their appications are an entitlement.

Think what you have heard is incorrect!!

See the children section in the FAQs link below

Thanks for your reply.

Can you also please advise me the whole process and how long will it take?

I have applied for my sons british citizenship through hounslow council on 19th Apr 2014 and I received the acknowledgement of applications last week.

Please advise me how long does it take and what the next step will be?

Regards,

MN1 can take anywhere between a few weeks to a few months.

Have a look at the MN1 timeline thread link below and have a look towards the end (page 34-36) for the current waiting times forum members are experiencing.

Once you receive the registration certificate you can apply for a British Passport for your child
