A few questions about the MN1 section 1(3)

Hello, I was born in the UK in 1997 (which makes me 17 y/o) my dad got his British citizenship when I turned 2. I left England when I turned 4 and never came back (even tried applying for a visa a few years ago to visit my dad but they rejected it based on how my parents are divorced and a 'slight chance' in him not returning me back to my mother) I've lived in Dubai from then on. Anyway, let me just keep this short.

- Can I apply online or do I have to visit a consulate?
- How long would the application take to go through?
- Anything else I'm not aware of?

Thank you!

Make sure you get the application in before you're 18. The form should be sent to Liverpool. Include a copy of your Father's British Passport or a copy of his naturilisation certificate and your British Birth Certificate (I assume it has his name on it).

Alright, that sounds doable (I have seven months left till I'm 18 anyway). Just out of curiosity, why specifically Liverpool?

That's where citizenship applications are processed.

Would I be able to change my surname as well (on the passport)?
