Please let me know when me and my wife can apply for citizenship. Our time line is here:

Me:

- Arrived first time in UK on Tier 1 Visa - 6 March , 2009
- Got ILR on 13 Jan, 2014

Wife:

- Arrived first time in UK on Tier 1 Dependent Visa - 21st July, 2011
- Got ILR on 13 Jan, 2014
- Living Together

Please let me know when me and my wife can apply for citizenship? Can we apply together on same day 13 Jan 2015? Thank you very much for answering my question.

I would say:
1- you can apply on 13/01/2015 (about 5yrs 10 months residence)
2- your wife can not apply before 21/07/2016 as she does not satisfy the 5 years residence rule.
However
Once you are naturalised British, you wife can apply on the same day as a spouse of BC.

5 years residence & 1 year ILR. I also think 13.01.15 is when you can apply.
You also have to meet residence and good character requirements.

Thank you for reply. Please confirm if she apply as British Citizen's wife what she actually needs to show as proof? Can she apply only with my naturalization certificate or she will have to send home office my citizenship certificate which I will get after oath ceremony?

She will just need to put in her application form your citizenship reference number..no need to send certificate.

Are you sure Milan69?? She will need to submit proof of spouse being BC but if applying using NCS, they get to keep the original at least. I applied as spouse of BC and had to submit spouses BC passport.

Page 18 of the AN form says :

SECTION 6
Evidence of marriage for applications made on the basis of marriage or civil partnership to a British citizen.
• Your spouse’s or civil partner’s current passport or naturalisation/registration certificate showing that he/she is a
British citizen. If you are making your application by post you can send a complete and full copy of your spouse’s
or civil partner’s current passport. Every page of the passport must be copied including any blank pages AND
•The marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate

I was under the impression that abdik1980 was asking if he has to send his original certificate of naturalization for his wife's application. My wife is naturalized BC and I only had to show her passport and to provide her naturalization certificate number in my application form, I did not need to show or send her original certificate. I also had to show our marriage certificate.

If he doesn't have a passport, the certificate will have to be sent.

I naturalised 2 years ago but only did my passport very recently so I had to use my certificate for my daughters MN1 - as an example.

The same would apply if applying as spouse of BC if the BC does not have a passport yet.
