Hi All,

I really need to ask one question which is very important for
My future plans that is after getting the ILR, the minimum time period to apply for BC is 12 months (if I am not wrong) then in these 12 months , can someone go and live in another country for business or job point of view and after the completion of legal time period, he/she can come back and apply for the BC??

Is there any time period restriction, we have to spend in UK OR ANY gaps situation ???

Sorry if I could not convey my question properly but I am sure we have quite a lot good brains here full of knowledge, who can help.

Kind regards

There are absence limits for naturalisation.

Based on 5 years residence : no more than 450 days absence in the whole 5 years and no more than 90 days in the last 12 months before applying for BC.

Based on 3 years residence Spouse of BC : no more than 270 days absence in 3 years and no more than 90 days in the last 12 months before applying for BC.

So no, your suggestion/plan would not really work.

Wait until you have BC and then move abroad.
