Gross misconduct

Dear all,

I just received my ILR and am patiently waiting for the 12 months to lapse so I can apply for BC.

In 2013, I was fired after a disciplinary process at my workplace because of gross misconduct (I had accidentally sent an email with the wrong information to an important client). There was no civil/criminal procedure and everything was dealt with internally at my previous job. I was asked to leave and so I did.

I am now wondering if this is something that could be used against me under the “good character” rules, especially if they reach out to my previous employer as part of the checks process.

Thank you

It won't affect your BC application.
