Hi there

I've been searching here about English requirement and read lots of posts of people who have degrees, etc... This is not my case, in 2007 I passed on Cambridge First Certificate in English, but passed with grace C. I know FCE is recognised by the Home Office but my doubt is if the grade C will be. Could anyone give me some guidance here, please?
Many thanks!

Looking at page 3 of approved tests lists, grade C of Cambridge First Certificate is equivalent to level B2. So it does not meet the Home Office requirement of B1.

Thank you very much for your reply.

I'm still confused because, if I'm not wrong, level B2 is higher than level B1 so why doesn't the Home Office accept it?
The wikipedia website says:

Cambridge English Level B1 certificate
For candidates scoring between 45 and 59.

First Certificate in English – CEFR Level B2
Grades B and C
For candidates scoring between 60 and 79.

First Certificate in English – CEFR Level C1
Grade A
For candidates scoring between 80 and 100
Awarded to exceptional candidates who show ability beyond Level B2.

So I just want to be 100% sure I don't need to take another test again, please.
Does anyone else agrees with the this answer or can confirm it, please?

Sorry it was my mistake. I looked thoroughly again and found Home office english levels in ascending order are:
A1, A2, B1 ,B2, C1, C2

So it is clear that level B2 is higher than level B1.

My previous post should be read as:
Looking at page 3 of approved tests lists, grade C of Cambridge First Certificate is equivalent to level B2. So it meets the Home Office requirement of B1.
In short, Your certificate meet Home Office requirement of B1 level :)
