Hi All,
I need your advice and suggestion on the above topic
I came to UK in Jan 2011 as dependent.
got My ILR on Jul 2013.
My spouse is not a British( Has a ILR status )
Can I apply for my British Citizenship with the old rule((before Jun 2013) which is 2 +1 year )
In the website it talks only about 5 years ( https://www.gov.uk/becoming-a-british-citizen)
Kindly advice me on this regards.
Thank you in advance

The 3 year route to Citizenship under the old rules would only apply if your spouse is British.

Thank you Casa. One more question " can we both apply together " or "should my spouse get the citizenship first and then I apply later "

Since you are not spouse of BC so you are not eligible until you complete 5 years, But if your spouse is eligible now and have completed 5 years then he/she can apply and as soon as your spouse will get the naturalization you will be eligible to apply.
