Spousal Visa english test requirements - confusion

Everyone,

I am highly confused over this.

My wife has undertaken an ESOL English Test (E3) that is used for indefinate leave to remain purposes. She did this on November 20th 2013 and it is an LRN Certificate.

Now, as far as I can see this is a B1 test and the Spousal Visa requires an A1 Test. Is the test she has done adequate or does she have to do an A1 Test as well? She has lived in the Uk for 12 years and speaks fluent english, has no problems in understanding english, struggles a little with written apart from that she is fine.

The issue I am coming across is that her visa application is being rejected because her course is not recognised by the Home Office for A1. I am being told by LRN (Learning Resource Network) it exceeds the requirements. Are they actually registered for this test?

anyone know the answers to this as I am getting a bit confused. I am confirming it with the School however this will take til Tuesday.

My very best,

Alex Chatwin

Just as a bit of further information:

My wife is Brazilian passed the B1 E3 test and now is being refused entry as she has not done an A1 Test from an appropriate testing facility.

We have 2 British Citizen children, and they are currently in Brazil with her. They are 2 and 5.

I find this position crazy.
