Passport for Child from EEA parent

Hello All,

I am an EU citizen and I have been living and working in the UK for 6-7 years.
I presume I automatically get the Permanent Residency after 5 years.

My question is regarding my child which is going to be born within the next few months in the UK.
1- Is my child eligible to get the British Passport?
2- If yes what application do I need to fill? The MN1 (British citizenship for under 18) or a normal British passport application?
3- What proofs/documents do I need to prove that I have been living & working in the UK ? is Employment History (P60) enough?

Since i am eligible now for naturalization, do you think is best if i apply for it first then apply for a passport for my child ? is this easier/less expensive?

Any other comments are more than welcome.
Thanks

He'll automatically be British if born in the UK under section 1(1)(a) BNA. You'll need to submit proof you've been exercising treaty rights for 5 years, or apply for your PR now and use that if it's granted before the child's born.

Amber thanks for the reply.

I am planning to do the following (i have already been exercising my EEA treaty rights 6 years by now):
1- I will apply now for PR certificate EEA3 in order to get an official document to prove that i am exercising treaty rights
2- Once the PR is back, apply for a passport for my child and enclose the PR certificate.

My concern is if i get the PR certificate AFTER (lets say one month) the baby is born does the above scenario make sense ?

Thanks in advance.

If the child is born in the UK before the PR Confirmation is issued, just provide with the UK passport application the 5 years treaty rights evidence (5 P60s for example) as proof you have obtained (automatically) the PR status before the child's birth.
