Hi
I am going to apply for Naturalisation in Sep this year...I was issued one PCN in April 2014 for driving in Bus Lane and got another PCN in Jun 2014 for parking. I paid both the Charges on time! Am I ok to apply for naturalisation, and should these be declared on the form?
THanks

I wouldn't declare them, thus no effect.

Declare them! With effect or not, not declaring something they find out will ban you for 10years application.

That's rubbish, failure to declare something your are requested to declare could lead to a ban, but not declaring something you are not requested to declare can't be deception.

I sent an email to nationality helpdesk, and they advise me to declare PCNs too. However they are not confirming how PCNs affect the good character if at all.
Cheers

No need to declare, these fines is issued by local councils and private companies, it's Police ones you have to declare

Amber, HO states:
Fixed Penalty Notices (such as speeding or parking tickets) do not form part of a person’s criminal record and will not be considered in the caseworker’s assessment of character unless:
• the person has failed to pay and there were criminal proceedings as a result; or
• the person has received numerous fixed penalty notices.
As you say PCNs are FPNs, then I take it that I need to declare them.
I am going to apply for Naturalisation in Sep this year...I was issued two PCNs(April 2014 for driving in Bus Lane and got another PCN in Jun 2014 for parking) I paid both the Charges on time!
HO state " We would not normally take Fixed Penalty Notices into account, unless you have had more than one fixed penalty notice in the last 12 months. In that case, you may wish to wait to make your application until you have no more than one fixed penalty notice in the 12 month period before applying".
I am still not clear.
Thanks
