Self Assessment - Newly Self Employed

Hi. I qualify for citizenship this month having initially got my ILR via Tier 2. Since then I've quit my day job and switched to being a contractor. Unfortunately I haven't done my self assessment yet. Does anyone know if there's something else I can do to meet the required documents for the application? Or is the self assessment absolutely mandatory? This means I need to wait up to 8 weeks to get my unique tax reference for the self assessment.

Thanks.

U dont need to sumbit any work related docs.. or P60 if show your passport ..

However u need to mention 'Address of tax office or tax office reference'

So am I. But I still file my tax return every year because every year I find myself paying too much tax because of PAYE.
