Help required on MN1(3) - Child born in UK

Hi,

I'm currently holding ILR and planning to register my UK born son (3 years old) via MN1 (3) route.

After reading through guidelines, I have following questions:

1. My wife does not have ILR - is it still valid to apply for my son using MN1 (3)?

2. I'm applying for Naturalization along with my son (Separate application) - will it have any impact on my son's applications (any known reasons)?

3. While filling form MN1, which section do I have to fill for child born in UK?

4. In MN1 form - I see section 2 (Residence Requirement) and my understanding as per guide this is required only for child born outside UK? please confirm.

5. I have another child born outside UK (I was having ILR by then), is there any provision in which I can register this child as well for British citizenship?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, as you're settled.

2. I'm applying for Naturalization along with my son (Separate application) - will it have any impact on my son's applications (any known reasons)?

No.

3. While filling form MN1, which section do I have to fill for child born in UK?

It all.

4. In MN1 form - I see section 2 (Residence Requirement) and my understanding as per guide this is required only for child born outside UK? please confirm.

Yes.

5. I have another child born outside UK (I was having ILR by then), is there any provision in which I can register this child as well for British citizenship?

You could apply together but as it'll be under section 3(1) safer to apply for that child once the Mother is settled. Although a recent case proves that you'd likely be ok applying now.

Thanks in advance for your help.

For Kid born in UK, does absence of 270+ days in 3 year period affect Registration ?

Hi Amber / Gurus,

With response to above

As I'm submitting MN1 for child born in UK - do I have to fill-in section 2 (Residence Requirement)? as the response earlier was confirming it was only for child born outside UK... please clarify

Absences are irrelevant to a section 1(3) application.

You could still put down the address the child has lived, and on the side, state that child was born in UK.

I agree that it is totally unnecessary for a Section 1(3) application
