Hi colleagues,

I'm in process of filling the application form and found that I need to enclose self assessment statement or provide my employee contacts. The paradox of my situation is:

I'm a director and sole owner of the company in other EU country. But I live permanently in UK. I'm successfully running the company but, being director, I currently don't pay salary for myself, reinvest all money in business and consequently have no personal income. Nor there nether here in UK. Having 0 income I have no obligations for paying personal social security taxes in the country of my company. But the company pays taxes on regular basis in usual order.

What the best way to do in my case? I have no sole trader registration neither employer here. I have insurance number that was issued about year ago, as far as I have plans to register as LTD or as a self trader in the near future. The lawyer, which I consulted with, declared that till I have no personal income I don't have to worry about any tax payments in UK.

What the best way to act in my case?

For now I decide to add clarifying letter to my application and bank statements (personal and my company).
I'm applying as a British citizen spouse (naturalized couple of years ago) if it's important.

thank you for all relevant answers!
