Passport validity and citizenship queries

Hi

I am planning to apply for British citizenship and meet the eligibility requirements.

We are a couple with a minor for the application. My kid is 5 years old and her Indian passport expires in less than 6 months. I don't want to renew it as within this period we will get the UK passport.

Is that a problem for the application? I couldn't see any such restrictions but if anyone is aware of the rule, please can you let me know?

Thanks

As far as I know people can apply for citizenship even on expired passports, yours is still valid, so no problems at all. Only thing is your travel plans. So if you use NCS then you get your documents-minus-LIUK-result back the same day.

Experts can tell you better.

Thanks fwd079 for your answer.

Any experts out here that could confirm this (whether passport validity period is important) so that I can apply? I couldn't find any such requirement in the guidelines as such
