UK naturalisation approval letter

Dear Immigrationboard members,

I am in deep confusion and i hope you can save my day by answering my query :)

We applied for Naturalisation on 7th Aug 2014 and got a letter on 22nd October 2014 asking us to provide evidence that demonstrates atleast 10 points for english language and have sent the document to Liverpool UK home office.

We are going abroad on business trip on 21st Nov and back 2nd week of Jan 2015. So, if we receive approval letter whilst we are away i don't know how much time we have got to call up Council to fix ceremony date. Should we call soon after we receive approval letter or is there a cooling period i can benefit from so that i can call council upon our return.

Thanks very much in advance

Cheers 8)

I believe that within 3 weeks of receiving the letter you have to arrange for the ceremony with the council and you have 90 days to attend the ceremony,

Unless you ask someone you trust to check your mail so that they can let you know and you can then book your ceremony from wherever you are.

Thanks CR001.

Some of them i know told me that the applicant has to sign and receive the letter. Is that the case? Can anyone confirm that?

I forgot to mention on my original post that we received a letter on 22nd Oct asking for documents that demonstrates 10 points for English Language. We have sent the evidence on 27th October and waiting...I dont know if Home office has seen the document or not :(

There is no way to track the progress.

Not true. It comes in a simple brown A5 envelope via second class mail through the post box.
