Thank you for the prompt reply. So in that case do you know by any chance if is possible to book a test in any chosen city or only the nearest one to the place when one leaves? In our area there is no single slot for the next few months but I know that for example in London there is plenty of possibility...

You can book a test at any centre, it does not have to be where you live.

In our area there is 5 centres, each of the fully booked. Online doesn't seems to be any option to choose any other cities except those from the list. When we phoned to the help line we were told that we are not allowed to book a test in London. Was just the person on the phone not giving us the correct information? Wanted even to change my address to the London one, where we used to live previously but if there is the post code on the certificate so in that case it will clash with the other documents which need to be attached with the BC application...

Perhaps then it does need to be within a certain distance of your home address. The test centre I used was far from my home but I did write it a few years ago.

Is it that there is no availability for a specific days (like a Saturday) or could you be flexible to do any day?

There is no single slot available in any of the 5 centres at all. Their calendars are shown till some time in January 2015 and everything is booked...

When is your ILR due and how long do you still have left on your current visa?

Govt website says nothing about test centre being close to where you live so I think you should be able to take it anywhere you like. I did mine about 80 miles away from where I was living at time of my ILR and Citizenship application and didn't have any problem.

That is what I thought Akhurshid - although I did my test a few years ago and wasn't sure if anything had changed, but obviously not.
