Dear Experts,

I am currently on ILR and have a BRP too. When I applied for ILR, per the new rules, I did provide my Life in the UK pass certificate and an old IELTS score which I had used for my original Tier 1 application too, no issues.

My questions are

- Do I need to submit these again when I am applying for the naturalisation? If yes, would my 6 years old IELTS result still qualify for this purpose?

- There is a requirement to be free from immigration rules for at least one year to be able to apply for naturalisation. Should this 1 year be completed on the date when the documents are posted or when they actually start processing the application? Given their average processing times, is it too risky to post the documents at the end of 11th month for example?

You have to had ILR for one year before you can apply.

Thanks very much for the replies and yes, I know that what has to be supplied is clearly listed. However, submitting exactly the same documents to the government authorities which have access to the same database, just one year apart doesn't make any sense at all, these aren't type of documents that could expire.

However, yes, to be on the safe side, I am going to submit what they asked for but I think points which don't make sense should be raised with the Home Office so they hopefully rectify them in the future. That was my main reasoning to ask this question.

For example, the MN1 application form also clearly states the marriage certificate as a required supporting document, however, as jambo also explained on numerous occasions, this requirement does not exist in practice any more due to a rule change back in 2006 but they did not update the required documents section of the form yet.
