BC after separation from British husband,

Hi,

I got ILR via marriage last year, now I am supposed to apply for BC next month. But unfortunately me and my husband do not live together any more, even I am receiving housing benefit, child benefit and tax credit as I am single mum. So am I still able to apply for BC via marriage route? or I have to wait until I complete 5 years living in the UK? My ex does not mind to support my application, but I want to be sure there is no thing wrong.

thanks

As long as a divorce hasn't been finalised you are entitled to apply as a spouse of a BC. For Citizenship purposes you are still considered to be married even though you are separated. Claiming benefits won't affect the application.
