Hi,

We had a baby born in UK when we both parents were on ILR.We havent applied for baby's British passport yet. Now, both the parents got naturalisation. Now I am plannning to apply for our passport same time. my queries are

1. What documents are required for baby's passport application? I am not getting clear answer by calling Passport office.

2. As we are applying at the same time there will be a common documents between baby's application and parents application, eg. parent's passport. I called passport office and they said I can put all three applications in once envlope and write a cover letter metioning the common documents between applications. Then I checked with Post office for Check & Send and they said they cannot send three applications in one evenlope. each application will go seperately.

What should I do in this case?

1. Check the FAQ (links below). Basically, parent passport and proof of ILR at child's birth, UK birth certificate (long).

2. If you want to use PO, you can photocopy parent passport (all pages) for child application. Not sure PO service is worth the extra £20+ for their service. Just send all in one envelope.

Thanks Jumbo.

We had BRP card, should we send both passport and BRP card with child application or just BRP card is enough to prove that we had ILR at the time of birth.
