Child passport and 5 year supporting documents

Dear forum members,

I have been to post office to submit my child passport application and staff member there said they can't send my application through 'check & send' as according to them i have to provide past 5 years record (P60 etc) as supporting documents.

I am an ILR holder since july 2014 and my child was born this december. I have looked up Gov.uk and this forum and i can't see any such requirement from parent for a child passport.

Due to some immediate family emergency back home i need to travel as soon as my kid passport arrives so can't wait for any delays.

Please shed some light on above issue as i think i am correct in assuming that there is no such requirement. I have made a postal application and submitted my current passport and ILR card alongwith child full birth certificate as supporting documents.

Kind Regards

If you are an EU national or family member and you do not have PR status then you need evidences back to 5 years from the date baby born. otherwise u do not need.

1> If baby born in UK after 1Jan 1983 @ 00:01 AND one of the parent's has settle status before birth, baby is automatic British.
2> Post Office staff is not qualified at all, They have no idea about immigration rules.

in your case, you have submitted right documents.
You will receive your baby's first passport with in 2 weeks as I received in only two weeks.
