Forgive me for being thick but does first arrival mean literally like the first day my husband arrived here on visit visa or in June 2012 when he got spouse visa as the guidance notes say enter the date you viewed to stay in the UK on a long term basis....when he was on.visit visa initially there was no plan to.stay long term...

But then why does the form refer to the guidance notes...which say to enter the day you entered the UK with view to stay on a long term basis
As a visit visa is obviously not a long term.

Asking for your honest view, arent they?
My friend came as student in 2001 but later got Work permit then ILR etc, at time of applying he put 2001 as his date with view to stay in UK on a long term basis, got approval within 2 weeks.
