Hello,

Following are the facts

(a) 2007 : Child born, outside EU. The mother was non-EU citizen in 2007, but with her UK status are ILR (Indefinite leave to Remain). Mother has full and sole parental responsibility of the child.
(b) 2009 : Child's mother gets naturalised as British Citizen.
(c) 2014 : Child joins the mother in UK, with immigration status as Joining-Family - ILE (Indefinite Leave to Enter).
(d) 2014-2015 : Child has since started schooling, etc + normal family life in UK.

Q 1: The mother wants investigate the possibility of registering the child as British Citizen as soon as possible. Can anybody comment on when is the earliest this can be applied for ?
Q 2: If yes, then which section of MN1 does the application falls under ? (Most sections are about parent being british-citizen-otherwise-than-by-descent, which doesn't apply here, I think)
Q 3: If not, then is it because that the child needs to convert their status from ILE to ILR ??

Kind Regards
PM
